I both visit and order take out from Seven Moons often. This is probably my favorite Chinese/Asian restaurant in the area. I always find the service to be friendly and attentive when dining in the restaurant. The restaurant is large and I've never had to wait, although on busy Friday and Saturday nights I'm sure there is a wait. We order take out, most often. They have delicious sushi and I definitely recommend their Spicy Thai Chicken Wings. They are our favorite thing on the menu.

What an update. Went, stood in front of the woman at the counter. Ordered pork fried rice. Explained maybe 4 times, please no carrots, 20 minutes later: carrots. ordered fried rice for pick up. I guess they read this and they know who I am. The staff was enthusiast but I'm not gonna lie, they've got the most authentic egg rolls around and the dumplings are spectacular but I can go to Lemongrass (AMAZING) for half the price, twice the service and all around a much better establishment by driving another 10 minutes. I'm not trying to down 7 moons by mentioning lemongrass but it needs to be said.

Always good. New menu. New owners. Still good. Prices went up just a bit but still worth it. Had the scallion pancakes. They were good but not great. Spider roll is the best. Get that all The time.

So, after not returning to 7 moons after a few years we decided to give them another try. I have to say they have improved. The restaurant actually seemed more family friendly now and less prostitute ish. Glad they finally cleaned the place up. Sushi was good, I ordered the red spider roll and I really enjoyed it. Their main chinese dishes are not my favorite, and they still do not offer combo plates, like with rice and an egg roll. Overall the food is ok.....

How the mighty have fallen, this was our go to place for SE Asian Food.. no more though. There was no one at the Sushi Bar @5:30 on a Friday nite, that should have tipped us off. The food was awful, the Nim Chow sauce was watered down and had minimal lime taste.. The Entree, Vegetable with Lemon Grass(V 9) was completely different, it used to be a combination of tastes and vegetables including small eggplants.. now it is just a spicy red sauce that has "one note" taste.. Complained to the Waitress and hostess, both seemed aware of the complaints and offered to give us something else, but did not think anything would be very good, so paid the bill and left. On the way out ran into another couple who heard us complaining, and they agreed with us.. too bad, a restaurant that served some very good food has descended into mediocrity..

The Food is so so. Service was poor. Long wait, unpleasant staff. I don't plan on returning.

Sad to say I have to update my review. It's terrible how things took such a downturn. Food is barely edible now. They used to make really good, crispy, spring rolls. The last ones I ordered were burned so much they were bitter and not edible. I drive by the place everyday to and from work and see barely any cars on the lot now.

Seven moons used to be very good but the quality of their food and their service has declined dramatically in the last year. It's really a shame-- we end up going to Kon now, more expensive but much better.

As you can see from other reviews, this place gets mixed reviews. Giving this place 2s is generous. The apps and main dishes were sub-par. I often will gauge an Asian restaurant by the quality of their Hot n Sour soup as an initial assessment, since it standard fair for Chinese joints. Well 7 Moons failed here and never recovered. I often drive by here to see it packed and wonder what the appeal is. .. Too many good restaurants in this area to warrant a return. Salud!

They have reasonably priced deliscious entrees. Good portions, nicely prepared. I enjoyed a gluten free stir fried shrimp and vegetables entree with steamed white rice. My husband enjoyed sweet and sour chicken platter with the same rice. We shared a medium portion of the white rice which was more than enough! We will definitely come again!

Very friendly service and the food was great. The vegetarian sushi was outstanding and the prices were affordable. Will be visiting again.

Seriously I don't get what the big draw is to this place. I just went with my family for a celebratory dinner and the only thing worse than the food was the horrible service. The server took so long between bringing out dishes so by the time the rice was on the table I was already done with my entree. The lobster sauce was just okay but the rice was dry, bland and loaded with MSG. Even the crispy Thai wings that came highly recommended didn't live up to the expectation. Anyone that thinks this is good food needs to take a little road trip into Providence and check out Apsara on Public Street, it may be a dive but their food is the real deal!!

Jack of all trades...master of none. They offer all kinds of asian cuisine here (mostly american style) - came here with a large party and everyone really enjoyed the Antipasto platter. The Volcano drink was fun. I had the mushu beef and shrimp w/ lemongrass.

I used to go to Seven Moons often...their food was tasty, not overloaded with sauce, and the service was great. Well, the service is still great...The server stopped by to check on us a few times & kept our water glasses full. That earned them an extra star. Their food used to be delicious! Just the right amount of salt, spice, and heat. My husband & I stopped in to grab some dinner after a doctor's appointment....what a disappointment! The sushi was still good...I had the spicy tuna roll; not very spicy. My husband had the moo goo gai pan & hated it. He picked around at his plate (never a good sign) and when I asked him if he liked it, he simply said "no". My ginger chicken was OK, but would have been better with more sauce. Soy sauce made it a little better, but who wants to drown their food in soy sauce??? Seven Moons used to be my go-to place when I was in the area...sadly, I'm moving on....

As far as Chinese food in Rhode Island goes: this place is legit. Good food and totally clean. I will be back. Vegetable fried rice and Singapore noodles were delicious and so was the wonton soup.

The food is always good and that is why my family decided to take me there last night for my birthday. We were a party of 7 with a bill of $200. Not bad. The hours say close at 9:30pm. We finished eating at 9pm. The waiter funally came over at 9:15. My son said "it's my mom's birthday and we want to sing, can we get cake?" The waiter says "sorry kitchen already closed". First off what restaurant closes the kitchen without telling the guests and some guests were still eating in the dining room? Second it was 9:15, the kitchen should have still been open and lastly, you don't need to cook the cake. I was in the restaurant business for 27 years and I have never seen anything like it.

Ever since new ownership has taken hold this place has gone down hill. Horrible and slow service and the food has taken a hit. Over priced and smaller portions.

I can only say that it seems Seven Moons has changed hands in the last few months, and it's been downhill since then. I've lived in North Kingstown since August of 2012, and have up to this point always loved the food and service. I typically order take out and when picking up, had always been greeted warmly by the desk staff and had my name used...lovely!! Well, in October, when picking up my order, the new-to-me staff barely smiled, didn't offer my receipt and didn't give me change!! Given, it was less than 20 cents, but to just take my cash and call the transaction done is not acceptable. On a subsequent order of General Tso's chicken, 1 order of Nime Chow, and 1 order of Crab Rangoons, which totaled over $30, the straw that broke the camel's back was the barely full container of chicken. To charge over $13 for so little food (which was not even great) is insane. Such a disappointment, as this used to be my favorite place to eat in town.

Nice, clean, and pleasant atmosphere. The downside is that the four dishes we ordered were bland, bland, bland, and bland. They could have arrived to the table hot at least. I wish they wouldn't have Americanized these classic dishes. All the blold Asian flavors have been toned down way to much. I've no plans to return but would if someone insisted.

So so so so bad, not sure why we keep trying it. The rice was greasy and had no taste , south beach dish was prepared w gray ginger and spoiled shrimp. The quality has plumeted and the prices are ridiculous for bad Chinese food!!! I have never been in such an inconsistent restaurant as far a quality goes. This area is in desperate need of a decent Chinese restaurant.

I've only been once, but I've wanted to go for years. I've heard many good things. Their menus is huge! The have so many options, including sushi, which was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't a huge fan of the wonton soup, but it just isn't what I was expecting... No pork, small portion. I disliked that they didn't have combination plates either. I'll be honest, with all the good things I've heard, I was expecting better, but it wasn't terrible. I'm willing to give it another try.

Very disappointed, they changed owners and the quality and the service have really gone down hill. They also got rid of the fabulous women bartenders..one of the waiters said that the new guy who owns it now does not like women in that position, I wished I knew there name and where they work so I can give them my business. Also just this past Friday I tried calling in a takeout and it took me 45 minutes to get though, when my boyfriend arrived and gave his name the guy said too many Mikes, what did you order, so he had to call me and ask. They finally got it and I was so upset cause it was a greasy mess. Seven Moons use to be our favorite place to go, not anymore!!! Hope someone from that 7 Moons reads this so they can fix the service and the food!!!!

I have to say that a seven moons antipasto is pretty darn good. The lemongrass chicken wings being the single best thing I've had there. Pad Thai is good. Cantonese noodles too. I've had good food there but I've had some pretty bad stuff too. Part of it is the failure to communicate with the staff. The waiters almost invariably do not speak English. You'll say something, they'll disappear, and come back with a manager in a striped shirt to take your question. The waitresses for the most part are locals and it is night and day different dealing with them. I've told every server in every restaurant that I have a food allergy to peppers. They tell me a dish like sweet and sour chicken has no peppers and when it comes out it does. I send it back and they pick the peppers out of the sweet and sour sauce and send it back! It was cooked with peppers in it! Uugh. I sent back shrimp twice in one night because the batter was raw inside. One of the owners came out and told me they were fully cooked and that the batter was just old. Nice huh? I sent back sushi the one time I ordered it because it smelled bad. I wouldn't recommend it. I've sent back any number of dishes because the vegetables are raw. It's hard to eat raw onions and raw Chinese broccoli stems will choke a horse. You wait in line to eat in a very pretty restaurant, and then, there is a problem with the food that suggests a poorly trained kitchen staff that doesn't have a clue. Compared to a place like Lemongrass, where the kitchen is a well oiled machine, it's a joke. The worst meal I have had in an Asian restaurant was their green curry soup with chicken and baby eggplant. My bowl had a half inch of grease floating on it. I stirred it and chicken skin, fat, and halved baby eggplant swirled around. One spoon and I realized although it was extremely spicy that something had gone bad. I sent it back and have lived in fear of it ever since. I saw a woman order it once at the bar. I watched her put a spoon in her mouth, spit it back into the bowl and send it back. You don't see that very often! If I'm there with friends, it's the antipasto or noodles. I won't go on my own anymore, not just for the food. You can't talk about the place without mentioning the hostesses. They all look like runway models but they aren't friendly. They all seem too busy to seat you and don't listen. I have 3 places in a restaurant I will not sit. I let this be known. I don't sit in front of kitchen doors, bathrooms, or waitress stations. I don't need the noise, smell, or commotion while I'm eating. The first place the hostesses always try to put me is at the little tables in front of the kitchen doors. I refuse as lots of people do. It's an insult and those tables shouldn't even be there. Then I get the rolling eyes and the attitude. You go out for, and pay for, atmosphere, service, and food. Someone should teach them that. They act as they could care less you are there spending your hard earned cash.

While we have eaten here many times in the past, today has completely turned me into a former customer. We arrived at 11:30, their opening time, we were promptly seated and the maitre'd gave us water. While we waited for a server to come over about 3-4 servers were sitting at a table near the kitchen, after waiting 15 minutes for a server we decided to leave. When we did they decided to acknowledge us. Well guess what, too late. We left and will probably never go back again. Too bad we liked the food.

We've been here close to a dozen times in the last few years and it is usually pretty packed, so visiting on Christmas Eve really wasn't much different -maybe even a little less busy as far as we could tell. Unfortunately, I have to confirm most of the other reviews over the last few months that this place is on its way down. It's too bad because it was always so consistent in the past. As a note, I can't remember the last time we've ever gone out on this night but with things being a little hectic this year we figured we could use a break from the usual chaos( which we actually love) that we subject ourselves to! Where to begin? We called a week or so early and reserved a round table for 8. This being Christmas Eve we figured it would be more fun. When we arrived( at 6 PM) they had no round table available, and they seated us near the bar with a few small tables pushed together -which was fine. However, once they realized that the roof was leaking on our table they offered to move us ...which at least two people in our party appreciated. So after a few minutes we were seated again, but this time we were in the small section near the lobby behind the water feature. This really isn't ideal, but we were comfortable and just wanted to get the festivities started at this point. In the spirit of Christmas cheer, we ordered our drinks. Two Scorpion Bowls, two mixed drinks, and four wines. And we waited...... After 15 minutes we figured they were a little backed up. No problem. After 30 minutes( or so, whose counting) the two mixed drinks arrive and we're relieved that they've finally bringing out the beverages. So we waited..... After about 40 minutes we actually started complaining unpleasantly, which I think is pretty fair. The waitress came over and apologized, followed by the manager who promised our drinks would be out soon. Did they run out of alcohol? I mean it's a Scorpion Bowl, put anything in it at that point -I don't think anyone would have minded. The strange thing is that the bar wasn't really that busy( someone in our party took a stroll) and on top of that other parties were getting their drinks. After about an hour, we decided to just order our meals and they promised our drinks would arrive shortly. So, we waited..... Ok we're up to One Hour and Fifteen minutes at this point. But amazingly, out in the distance, I spotted the burning flame of the Scorpion Bowl that had alluded me for so long. YES ...a true Christmas Miracle! And just like clockwork, after I took one nice, big sip ...our meals arrived. Perfect timing, right? I'm going to give them 2-stars, because not even the meals were on target. Three out of eight meals were lukewarm and probably would have been warm if they we're served when the drinks came out. Maybe they only serve Scorpion Bowls with meals now -who knows? Just for fairness, I will mention that the manager offered to take 50% off the drinks we ordered -which wasn't good enough for me, but as a group we accepted. The excuse was that a bartender called out at the last minute so they didn't have the staff to keep up with the bar orders. And that's fine, but it doesn't explain why other parties got their orders -or why the situation as it related to us was handled so poorly. The bottom line is that I have heard the restaurant is under new ownership/(mis)management. At this rate, based on our experience and that of several other recent reviews -this place is on shaky ground. We will not be back.

I have lived in North Kingstown for over a year now. Seven Moons has been our go to place for decent eats. However, it has gone down hill somewhat since we first visited. Wait staff is decent some better than others. The food quality can be less than desired at times. Maybe they have a new cook. Sushi is good and has been consistent. The last time we went for Lemongrass Chicken wings it seemed that these wings were cooked well ahead of time and just reheated and some sauce thrown on the top. So, not good at all. I guess depending on what you order and who is running the kitchen you can get a bad deal. When we first started going, this was never the case. Either we always hit it on a good night or kitchen staff has changed.

I first like to start out by saying if I could leave zero stars I would. I've been going to seven moons since they opened. I went for lunch today (12/27/14). The service was a bit slow at first, the bartender was our waitress, though we were not at the bar. It seemed to me they were very understaffed. The dinners all came out at random times, she forgot two of the orders, drink orders where incorrect. It got even more busy at the bar and what seemed to be her section of tables. The service continued to get worse. When we finished we waited 30 minutes for our bill which was not the correct bill when we finally got it. After finally get out of the place I decided I would call the manager. When I explained to him what happened he got very defensive and asked me why I did not send anything back. I explained to him they were understaffed which he adamantly denied. He was a bit hostile during the whole conversation. I told him I'd been coming there for years and I had never had service like this and I would like something done. He offered me a free sushi roll ($6) and my bill was $118 with tip. I will never step foot into that place again.

i ordered take out tonight from this restaurant. When i got home the order was wrong. The wonton soup had broth but no wonton's and the chicken wings were still at the restaurant. I called the restaurant and they were apologetic and argumentative. They asked me for my number and the said the manager would call me. He just did. He also was argumentative and wanted me to know that I was not charge for the chicken wings so that makes it better that I did not get the food I ordered. I told him about the wonton less soup and he said the wontons were in a separate container that they forgot to put in my order. His solution was to give me free Chicken wings next time I stop by but still charge me for the wonton less soup. I will NEVER be back.

Love the sushi and Chinese food it is fresh and always good. The bar staff does and excellent job with drinks. The place is clean and always crowded so they have always have fresh food. I recommend the chef choice on the sashimi and curry soup, hot sour soup are great.

Seven Moons has become the eatery for the annual Christmas Dinner with my in-laws. Prior to eating here, I was dead set against the idea and wanted to end this Chinese for Christmas tradition. Well, that was all before I put an Egg Roll in fat mouth and my complaining came to a halt. After my in-laws spent two days preparing for a great feast of the seven fishes, I can understand why they don't want to spend their Christmas morning in the kitchen. I've come to embrace the feast of seven fishes married to an Italian over the years, but my tummy is always left feeling as if something is missing. Seven Moons, as much as I complain, is the cure to fill that void on Christmas Day. We usually start off with a round of appetizers. Shrimp Rolls, Dumplings, and Spare Ribs. I have my favorite Chinese restaurant here at home, but Seven Moons has to be the best Chinese food I have had in recent years. The Egg Rolls are pretty thick. For our entrees we went with the vegetable fried rice, beef with string beans in oyster sauce, and of course the crispy duck. There was nothing more enjoyable than to spin that wheel on the table to sample each and every dish. I have had better duck at some Chinese establishments, however Seven Moons is does rank in my top five. You're not going to find the authentic exotic Asian dishes usually reserved for the Chinese families and special functions. Seven Moons serves the same type of Chinese food you would receive at your favorite local Chinese restaurant, but Seven Moons just seem to do it better. Important tidbit, get here early because believe it or not, this place gets busy on Christmas Day and I believe they don't take reservations.

The double sizzling chicken is awesome. It doesn't come with rice so I asked for some and together they were great. My waiter was excellent. I came in tired and a bit grumpy but he was great so he gets a good tip.

Food is very good however the service was slow at first then got faster once food arrived for instance we got the food I picked up my chopsticks and started to unwrap them and server returns and said how is everything? How could I tell by looking at it? My other issue was the table was not clean so I watched them clean a nearby table and found out why the busboys ( 2) only spot wiped the table they did not even remove condiment rack they wiped near it and the last thing is the teapot was dirty and chipped the tea was excellent but the teapot handle was sticky. My wife and I went for our anniversary and we only go for special occasions it has been awhile since we have been and the place has gone downhill

Great food! Love the nime chow, the rangoons. spider rolls, and pretty much anything we have ever tried. It's often quite busy when you eat in, but the staff are friendly. Take out is typically correct and ready when promised. It's a busy place during peak times, but is worth the wait.

If you are in the mood for Asian food but not quite sure what you want, Seven Moons has a huge menu that covers Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai. The food is pretty good and comes out pretty quick. The main issue, I have with it is many of the dishes are multiple dollars more expensive than many other restaurants and I do not find the quality or portions that much better to justify the higher price. You cant really go wrong with any dish, it will satisfy any craving you have when it comes to Asian cuisine.

Sometimes when you go to a place you like over and over, you try to write a review. In your head you have a million things you can think of that you like, but when it comes time to write the review, you can think of what to start with. This is the case with Seven Moons. I've been to so many Chinese restaurants, and this place has caused me to completely forget them. My girlfriend and I were in Woonsocket the other day, and she asked if I wanted to go to Asia Grille in Lincoln. Before trying Seven Moons for the first time, the answer would have been a definite yes, but one thing that sits in the back of my mind is the GD crab rangoons! Let's face it, I read the Yelp tips and reviews on this place and studied it well before my first encounter and had to give into the hype. The rangoons themselves are just slightly above the rest, and you can tell without reading the menu that they are in fact handmade. It doesn't stop there though... They give you some crazy modified peach flavored duck sauce to go with it. Honestly, I have thought of just drinking this sauce out of the cup, it's so damn good! But wait, I haven't touched the Scorpion Bowl. One thing that used to disgust me about Asia Grille was the fact that they chose not to dishwash the bowls in favor of keeping the paint on the side of the bowls intact. Instead, they "handwash" them. Because of this, their bowls have a dirty residue on the inside. Not at Seven Moons though. They favor the cleanliness over the look of the bowl which is more important. Not only that, the drink tastes unlike any Scorp I've had, kind of like a orangey, peach flavor that keeps you wanting more. They present it with the flame. It's clear that whoever is managing the bar is training their employees how to properly make drinks. Strong drinks dot mean a better drink, and this is carefully displayed here! The food is incredible! So far, I've tried General Tso's chicken, Pad Thai, Double Sizzlin' Chicken, LETTUCE WRAPS!!, and Shanghai Noodle. Yep, the lettuce wraps are the bomb! I haven't had the sushi before, but they do have an extensive menu for it, including Bento boxes. Also, you can sit Japanese style at one of the tables in a private seating area. Again, haven't done it yet, but I'm sure it's pretty cool. Sorry to be so lengthy, but again, this place is great! The waiters and waitresses are all very pleasant and this is why I'll drive the extra 5 minutes past Kon. ...that and the Scorps and Rangoons! Keep up the good work SMs!

I love the food at Seven Moons! Service can be slow at times, especially on busy nights. But overall, very good. Some of my favorite meal choices are: chop suey, pad Thai, nime chow, and their vegetable stir fry. They have amazing plum wine selections, as well.

I don't get it. The food here is mediocre and everything is al a cart. There are no combination plates for dinner so you have to order everything separate which really adds up. Appetizers are overpriced as well The food is just okay. It's not worth what you pay and I don't understand why everyone go so crazy over this place. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Oh baby. I love this place. So so so much. Everything is so good I cant seem to find any hot and sour soup that compares. Can you give me the recipe??? Either way please if you are in the area or feel like coming to NK give 7 moons a shot. You know I will be ringing the bell after my dinner!

I just don't get what everyone else likes about this place. On my most recent visit, our server was very courteous and efficient, which is a good start. I've had a few different hand rolls here, they were good but not spectacular. This time I tried some more standard Asian fare. The Chive dumplings weren't cooked all the way, leaving a gooey dough clinging to the chive filling. The filling of the Pork dumplings was dense and rubbery. Schezwan chicken is supposed to be spicy, even says so on the menu. You can see what looks like red pepper flakes in the sauce, but it's lost in the dish, I've had oatmeal with more heat. Its unfortunate too, because the chicken was cooked nicely, and the pea pods still had a little snap. The lo mien dish was decent, not as good as Green Tea, when they were still around, but decent enough. The pasta was a bit overcooked, and the sauce is too sweet. But I still ate it. All in I'd give them a C+. So why is it that there are people parking in a lot across the street, and risking death running the 5 lanes of traffic to get in here? Don't do it folks, this part of Rt1 is deadly. If you must, there's a couple of vacant lots just south of the restaraunt, on the same side.

I have been to Seven Moons on MANY occassions over the last 4 years. Part of my last job required occassionally going out to pick up donated furniture with our box truck. Everyone would argue who could go because we knew that lunch would probably be a stop at Seven Moons. The menu is pretty vast. This is the only thing my dad talks about when ever someone mentions the place. I have had a lot of items off the menu that span a good selection of what they have to offer but what keeps me coming back are the lettuce wraps (make sure you dont get the appertizer version...you want a PILE of this stuff and not just the 5 wraps that come with the appatizer version), sushi roll specials are usually fantastic, Tako Sashimi and the crispy duck (now substituted with the tea smoked duck). I am rating this place a 4 and not a 5 simply because during my last visit I was disappointed to find out that they no longer offer the crispy duck. They now only offer the tea smoked duck. boo. its still pretty damn amazing though. While you're there you should try the Lucky Buddha Beer....and then take the bottle home like I did. Its pretty cool.

The only why I didn't give it one star was that their food always comes out fast and wait staff is friendly. But other than that I don't have much good to say about the food. The noodle soup that they offer, which seems similar to pho does not even come close to it. It actually didn't sit well with my stomach right when I got home. My fiance didn't fare any better... We also ordered a cantonese style flat noodle dish. It was ok eating it at the restaurant. But for lunch the next day, it was not tasty at all. Very bland and the whole leftover meal was mushy. Was not good at all. I seriously doubt we will be going back unless it was someone's birthday and we would just order drinks..

We enjoy their Nime Chow and many of the specialty soups are very good, we love the red or green chicken curry soup!! Overall I'd recommend Seven Moons as a good, not great, Asian food experience.

Loved this restaurant before new ownership took over. Tried to celebrate Christmas Eve dinner there. 9 people reservation for 6 pm. First table we were seated at had a leak above us from the roof. Moved us to a dry table. We ordered drinks at about 6:15 as well as appetizers. Appetizers came out before drinks. We ordered dinner now we have been waiting 45 minutes for our drinks. Dinner came out every dish was cold. Still no drinks. At 7:15 drinks finally arrived. Manager came to table and said that he could take 50% off drinks we ordered. Not good customer service, totally disorganized. Will NEVER return.

One of our favorite places. My husband and I love to go to the bar random weeknights. The bartender makes great drinks, food is excellent and everyone at the bar is so friendly. We have been there numerous times, ordered different sushi each time and are never disappointed.

I don't frequent the area so I've only dined here twice in the last 5 years but the consistency between those two visits warranted a review. First of all, Seven Moons is novel because they have sunken tables that you have to remove your shoes to sit at. This seems to be a big draw for kids. Secondly, the food is perfectly fine. Nothing more, nothing less but satisfying just the same. Prices are decent and portions are sizable. They have all sorts of Asian offerings from Vietnamese soups to sushi. There is plenty of parking and the restrooms are well maintained.

I enjoy eating at Seven Moons whenever I am in RI. I love the fact that they have so much choice, a full bar, and pleasant decor. I can always find something I am in the mood for when I go, which cannot be said of other places. I have now tried a bunch of stuff, and the last thing I remember was the wings, so I will go with that and vote, thumbs up. Also, they got us started on a whole Espresso-tini kick.

Food: 4.5 stars when accurate. Mgr Jack: 0 stars. My husband and I have never been treated so disrespectfully at any restaurant in our 40 years. Ordered takeout 4/2/15 with hot food and combination dinner roll sushi/nime chow. The food is the best in the area because of the mixed Asian cuisine with an extensive menu, so we drive the 40 min round trip every month or two, but our cold items (more than $25) were not in the bag when we returned home. We called the hostess, who was very polite. The manager was called to the phone and offered to also give us additional food for the inconvenience. Twenty minutes later, my husband arrived to find that not only were we not going to get free food, the cold food was not even prepared yet. The manager implied that he had lied, and there was no way that the cold food items could have gone home with another customer because there is "always 2 bags: 1 hot, 1 cold. After about 10 minutes of him arguing with my husband in front of other customers, he finally agreed to have the food prepared. My husband has worked in the food industry since he was a teenager and as a chef for 17 years. We don't complain when service is slow, are gracious if orders are wrong, because we understand accidents happen. This manager is rude, and not capable of understanding customer service.

This place is always packed so be prepared for a short wait on weekends. They have a very nice bar area with TVs to occupy you while you wait. The menu is a mix of Thai, Chinese and some of the best sushi around. I love the green curry soup, it is incredible. I have eaten here many times and I have never been disappointed. The service is fast and the food is great and the drinks are strong.

I don't understand how this disgusting place has so many good reviews. Every time my family and I have gone to Seven Moons the waitstaff have been rude and the food has been nothing near what they charge for it. My mom used to order sushi to go from Seven moons, and she prefers it in an uncut roll. She asked for them to not cut it when she ordered over the phone. When she went to pick it up, she was greeted with something along the lines of: "Oh, you're that picky woman with the annoying requests...". That was the last straw for our family, not that my previous experiences with Seven Moons was any better. One time that particular sticks in my memory is ordering their lemon chicken. What I received was a lukewarm breaded chicken patty heavily covered in snot-textured lemon goo. It didn't look appetizing, and it didn't taste good. To top it all off, Seven Moons keeps getting gigged by the Health Department for unsanitary kitchen conditions! They were most recently cited for storing food on the floor, along with several other violations. Just Google "Rhode Island Health Department Seven Moons" to see their very long list of health code violations. With rude waitstaff, less-than-satisfactory food, and consistently unclean cooking conditions, I fail to see why Seven Moons is as popular as it is.

$ 5.50 for large nime chow order is two normal size rolls, with tiny mini shrimps that hardly looked cooked inside. Not up to par at all, an instant "I lost my appetite" appetizer. Quite surprising. Price cutting, quality cutting, spring rolls. Go to Pho Horn or Apsara for these rolls. For $4.25 and $2.75. These other restaurants offer full size shrimps and are fresh and delicious. My guess is that 7 Moon's thinks they have a captive audience that do not know any better. I would say "wrong" to that. Also, the cavernous nature of the dining rooms has always been a bit uncomfortable.

No Asian restaurant offers more disparate reviews than Seven Moons. You either love it or loathe it. I love the sushi and the pad thai. The spicy tekka maki is the best I've ever had. And I loooove sushi. But some of my sushi-loving friends don't trust this place. They reference unusual closings and health inspections. I'm not sure what to make of it. I personally have never had a bad experience here and I've gone here for years, utilizing both dine-in service and take out. The place is always crowded. So its safe to assume most people agree with me.

Honestly I dont understand how anyone could like this place. Its overpriced food, absolutely gross sushi rolls and food, and rude staff. I will never be back after my first time there. If i want AMAZING SUSHI i will go to WASABI on rt 2. If I want AMAZING CHINESE I will go to China Dynasty in Cranston!!!!!!!

Seven Moons is one of the fastest sit down restaurants I have ever eaten at, oh and the food is pretty good too. With that service alone, you should head on over to Seven Moons. Seven Moons is a little off the beaten path on Route 1 in North Kingstown/Quonset area and doesn't look like there is much to it. Wow when you walk in, Seven Moons does have some space, I really don't think you will have a problem with a wait. My GF and I had Nime Chow for an appetizer. It was very well done. We shared a pair of dishes, the Shanghai Noodle and the Loc Lac Chicken. Both were a nice choice to really offset one another. The menu is quite extensive, so there really is something for everyone. And did I mention cheap?! If you are around the NK area or coming back from the beach and have a hankerin' for asian, definitely head on over to Seven Moons.

After coming to 7 Moons for many years, we had a horrendous experience last week. When we sent 2 drinks back for arriving late, after we had finished our dinner, we were approached by the manager, Leon and told "no one wants to wait on you because they lose money". The wait staff apparently is charged for every drink order with management assuming no responsibility. Leon was rude and obnoxious and embarrassed us in front of other customers. Although their food is good, they have no concept of customer service. The business they have lost from us and our friends will be felt. Good bye 7 Moons, hello Haruki.

Great Sushi! We have been frequenting Seven Moons for a couple of years. I can only hope this review does the restaurant justice! Seven Moons has a plethora of outstanding Asian food, the menu is vast, having many choices from several countries in Asia. I love the pad Thai, spring rolls, nime chow, sushi, crab rangoon, bento boxes, string beans w/ lemon grass.... the list goes on. Every time we are at Seven Moons is always a fantastic time. Sitting at the sushi bar or the Japanese style tables is fun when enjoying the fresh sushi! There is plenty of seating, we barely have to wait. Hopefully you luck out & get sat near the fire place, the restaurant is warm & inviting. The service is consistently good. When we order a large amount of sushi sometimes it is presented on a lovely sushi boat, Eye candy! The spicy tuna roll always makes my mouth happy! The drinks are fabulous! A full bar with Scorpion bowls flaming, cold refreshing mojitos or my regular, kettle one cape cod. I love it here! IMHO - There isn't a better Asian/sushi restaurant in RI.

My favorite Asian restaurant in Rhode Island! The sushi is always fresh and delicious. The Pad Thai is phenomenal, made to order based on how spicy you enjoy it. While I'm not a fan of Crab Rangoons, everyone I bring to this restaurant becomes enamored with them! The Nime Chow is unbelievable and the peanut sauce that comes with is to die for! I have never left unsatisfied, and I'm sure you won't either!

I found Seven Moons to be outrageously priced for lackluster service and mediocre food. The sushi menu was limited. The ambiance is similar to a hospital cafeteria with worn-out decor. Would not recommend going here if you are looking to impress or for good asian cuisine.

They give you quite a bit of food at a reasonable price. Unfortunately the Chinese food is overly doughy. The dumplings a bit heavy. Fried rice excellent as were chicken and broccoli, general Tso Shrimp were huge but. Overly breaded. Not NY Chinese but not bad. Ribs were big and very good,

I have been to Seven Moons several times and the food is good... That's it...nothing Excellent...nothing Extraordinary, just OK. I have had their sushi, bento boxes, noodles, rice dishes, noodle soups, lunch specials....and all of them have been just OK..... for sushi, I would just drive a few miles north and hit Kon !!

Great Asian restaurant with options for everyone. Sushi is always fresh, and the other types of food are very good too. Service is really quick, and the servers are very nice. I judge Asian restaurants by my two go-to palate pleasers: Pad Thai and Nime Chow. Based on this criteria alone, Seven Moons ranks "over the moon" for quality PanAsian cuisine in Rhode Island. Great service + clean and spacious dining area + extensive menu = 4 star celebration!

We haven't come in a while which was a bummer but their food had begun to get less than wonderful. I mean by that the fact that their rice was the general white rice you will get at any Chinese - American restaurant, their portion sizes were okay but not large and they were changing things around in the dining room so much it became annoying to not know what to expect when I arrived. We came this time for a birthday. I was ready to give this place a mediocre rating because I was irritated that they charge A TEN DOLLAR FEE to BRING IN YOUR OWN CAKE. We had never encountered this at Seven Moons before. We were coming here for birthdays often until about a year ago. So I was pretty angry about that and made cupcake sized raspberry stuffed dark chocolate covered individual cheese cakes to hand out after the meal. Why did I describe the cakes? Because I am still pretty taken aback by the cake fee. I've NEVER HEARD of a cake fee. Okay. I am not over it but I can continue. The food has improved in portion size and in quality. I had the Pork with Ginger Sauce Bento Box. Instead of a small bowl of miso soup with seaweed and tofu the bowl was big and very tasty. The portions in the box filled each section. The salad dressing just as good as the last time but more salad and more dressing (awesome!) The rice was Jasmine rice not the white bread white rice that I got the last time. The sushi (option C,) was wonderful well formed, not miniature raw fish at room temperature on rice balls, shrimp, white fish, tuna and salmon good quality not excellent but delicious nonetheless. And of not, the wasabi tasted like real wasabi not that horseradish stuff that you typically get in Stop and Shop. The pickled ginger also was fresh and crispy. There are now a few desserts on the menu so you can buy a whole cake or one piece. The prices have gone up but since the portions have too I am not upset about that. The menu is still extensive but does not represent any Korean Cuisine but they had none when they started. Still I'd love it if they had a Bulgogi dish. I would still come here but I will not be bringing my cakes here. I'm still miffed at the fee so there goes a star.

Seven Moons is one of my go-to places in Rhode Island. I only give it 3 stars because the service is pretty inconsistent. It looks like they do a ton of business, and have a pretty large staff, some good, some bad, as a result. In terms of the food, they have a HUGE menu. Some of my favorites are the Sashimi appetizer (great selection of fresh fish, surf clams etc. with a bit of dikon radish), the Chicken Banh Hoi (Vietnamese lettuce wraps), and the Chinese Chicken Salad (chopped cabbage with chicken, more veggies, and a sweet peanut sauce). To me, these options provide a great variety of pretty healthy choices for nights I don't want to cook. The fiancee loves the Vegetable Nime Chow; we get this pretty much every time we go in. She'll also typically get a dynamite roll (spicy Tuna) from the sushi bar. These items are consistently very tasty. All in all, this place has a great menu and decent food, but inconsistent service. If you're looking for a ton of choices and some good drinks with friends where the staff doesn't try to push you out the door (sometimes because they forgot you're there), Seven Moons is a good choice in Little Rhody.

  • Neil B.

I have been to Seven Moons a few times. It is a friendly restaurant with ok food and fast service. The nime chow is good but a bit flavorless, the pad Thai is good but tastes more Chinese than Thai and the other dish we tried today, shrimp and string beans in black bean sauce would have been better had all the beans been strung before they were cooked. Not including white rice with the shrimp and beans and charging extra for tea was a bit cheap and c'mon, not including a fortune cookie with the check is just not right!

I have been here several times within the past few years because its my friends favorite resturant. When I went I usually got sweet and sour chicken, or general tsos, which were both pretty good. I went to seven moons with my mom and she had one of those tiny fruit flies in her water, which we both dismissed becasue stuff like that can happen anywhere. However a few nights ago my sister picked up two hot and sour soups from take-out, my sister was halfway through eating her soup and she almost swallowed one of those pieces of a brillo pad. I went with her to take it back,to inform them what had happened, and get our money back for the two soups. The girl at the counter did not know what to do about it, so called one of the managers over, he asked the takout girl what happened said to her "its okay", and just gave back our money. The manager did not express any sort of apology, and in fact acted as if we were not even there. The takout girl said "im sorry about that" but that was the only apology we got. I can somewhat understand that some people may complain about not liking food, so that they can eat it, and then get their money back, (therefore getting a free meal) however we brought the piece of brillo pad in with the half eaten soup. There was no way we were scaming the resturant. I don't understand why we would be treated the way we were, when something like that happens (a mistake on the resturants fault) they should be apologizing, and groveling at our feet to ensure that we were heard and valued as customers. I will deffinately not be returning back to Seven Moons! If you want good quality chinese food, with a nice menu that doesnt resemble a book, and doesnt have cleaning supplies in their food, I suggest The Pagoda Inn up the street, they have awsome food! and thats were i will be going from now on!

Seven Moons is the best! They have amazing Pad Thai, the drinks are always strong and tasty and the service is excellent. They will tailor any meal to your liking and everything I have ordered has always been delicious! The tables in the sushi bar area are adorable. Definitely give them a try if you have never sat there! Seven Moons is pricier than your typical Asian cuisine, but with all that they offer, and the quality, it is well worth it!

Really disappointed. Salty pork chops were bland and the pad thai was horrible. I was travelling so this is the only time I've eaten in this area so I don't know what to compare it to. Overall though, it was pretty poor.

Food is consistently good, prices are reasonable, service is "generally" very good.. I would have given it a 5 however lately it seems they are adding more and more tables.. It is beginning to feel like you need to introduce yourself to the party to your left since you're almost eating with them you're so close... High volume I get, but being able to move your arms without knocking over the guys water at the next table is nice also...

Maybe Seven Moons, but only one star. First, the postive, clean and polite staff. Now, the rest of the visit: --Tasteless. Used thigh meat for Kung Pao dish. No problem there, except that should be FRESH meat, which means no unpleasant after taste. --Smoking area in front of restaurant? Huh? Nice to catch a good lung of second hand smoke before dinning.

I love the food here and the pricing is great! Sushi is very fresh and made very well! I always sit at the sushi bar, but there is plenty of seating and they have the best appetizers! I love the lettuce wraps, they are outstanding!!! You must try one of the lettuce wrap appetizers to start you off right!!! :-)

*grooooowwwwwlllllllllll* When the roar of my Craving Dragon sounded for Asian cuisine this Saturday, my beau knew where to take me for dinner. Though when I said I was craving crab rangoon and sweet&sour...I had NO idea what I was in for. Seven moons boasts cuisine from several countries: China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, Laos and Malaysia. ...that's a LOT of options (and every one of them delicious, I'm sure). Upon arrival, I knew I was in for a treat: straight ahead the take-out counter (very busy on Saturday, a good sign), to the right: the bar as well as Japanese-style dining, to the left, a hostess smiling a ready to seat us. Our table too happened to be directly in front of a large Buddha (very cool). When perusing the appetizers menu, we decided to veer from the path of the stereotypical ! So we passed over the crab rangoon (which is, apparently, their most popular appetizer)! We started our meal with Fruit Sushi (yes, FRUIT!) and Yasai rolls (a vegetable assortment) - amazing. I wish more places ould offer fruit sushi because it - is - iiiiincredible! While I had entered the restaurant assuming that I would be selecting "the usual" (Sesame Chicken, or Kung Pao, or...some other sauce-drowned item), the menu lead me down a different path. It's a LARGE menu, but it is certainly worth perusing at your own pace. There are decent vegetable and tofu sections (much better than what is usually available), and then...there's the Ban Hoi. Forgive me if I'm the last person on the planet (or, the last person in America) who hasn't heard of this phenomena, but iI was hooked. The Vietnamese dish consists of fresh lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumber, soft rice noodles and a peanut sauce. Similar to Bee Boong and Bahn Soong though with one main difference: the Ban Hoi is assembled by the diner. I asked our wonderful server for suggestions and he smiled, "It depends, Ban Hoi you play with your food...it depends on if you want to play." I looked to my date, then back at our server and smiled in return, "I want to play." I'm glad I played. Ban Hoi is a new love; Seven Moons makes a blissful peanut sauce (sugar, vinegar, water, and crushed peanuts - no oil!). Though, I wouldn't suggest this for a first date food option (you have to wrap the food bits up in the lettuce pieces, then dip the wrap into the sauce....then manage to get it into your mouth - I would consider it to be difficult to do this in a dainty fashion). I had the vegetable version, but beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, or a combination are available. The dish yielded enough for dinner and tomorrow's lunch! My beau selected the "Bento Box Surprise" off the menu and he was in HEAVEN! Start with miso soup, then when his Bento Box arrived at the table...whoa. It was like a little tool box of flavor! The box is divided into small sections, each with a separate "dish": salad with ginger dressing, sushi (there are options!), cold vegetables, pork chops with ginger sauce, and rice. When we had satisfied our Craving Dragons, we slowly sipped our sake and "Moontini's" (with no urge from the server to move along and clear the table). The bill was impressively slight considering our feast and the great service (epic win). There may not have been fortune cookies served at the finale of the meal, but it would be fair to say that Seven Moons is in my dining future. Five stars, from me!

Why did we go back a third time?? Well, we won't anymore. Mention "Seven Moons" and everyone coos and swoons. "so good", "love them", so we decided to give them a try about a year ago. The first time the food was....ok. Nothing spectacular. Certainly nothing to drive from Providence for. The atmosphere is slightly above standard for an Asian cuisine restaurant, but walking to my table always feels like being a rat through a maze...for ordinary cheese. After the first experience, we returned with more people to give it another go. Again, nothing to write home about. But all you remember after a time is everyone's rave reviews, and forget the bland experience. So, we decided to return one more time, last week. We were seated right away, which was a nice surprise for a Friday night. I was once again overwhelmed by the tome of a menu, and decided to focus in on some sushi, since we have become quite regular consumers of it in other places. My fiance chose our appetizer and entrees. The sushi arrived, and we each took a piece. My fiance had a weird look on his face, and subtly raised his napkin to his mouth. "what's wrong?" I asked. He replied that something tasted wrong with the sushi. Funky. So much for the sushi. Then, our appetizer arrived, and we both looked puzzled. We thought we were ordering the chicken lettuce wraps, but we accidentally ordered the crispy wraps instead. No big deal, except the rolls were literally oozing oil and sizzling with fat on the plate. We each took a bite, and immediately put down the rolls. To this day, we have no idea what the ingredients were, except something brown and beige, and very slimy. The entrees arrive and we were, at this point, a bit shell-shocked. Our Sesame Chicken pretty much looked like Sweet and Sour chicken prepped with a different sauce, with thick batter, and, hello, no sesame seeds. The Mongolian Beef, while tasty, should have been called "Green Beans with slivers of Mongolian Beef". But, to be fair, this entree was actually quite tasty. So, we left wiping our tongues with our napkins, vowing that we will never again listen to the din of praise we used to hear about the restaurant. And since our last outing, we checked in with some friends, whose tune has also changes for the negative about the restaurant. While the light may be bright on "Seven Moons" for some, we would rather stay in the dark.

Seven moon is great and I find myself coming back to it over and over again. I can't have enough of it!

The menu is ridiculously large and offers nearly everything you can imagine from China, Japan, and Thailand. I dare to say that the menu is actually intimidating. Maybe if they separated the lunch and dinner menus it would be much more manageable. The ambiance is nice and there seems to be plenty of seating options. I had a bento box with teriyaki chicken and sashimi. It was good - lots of food and a good price. I left with leftovers for lunch the next day.

The only reason people like Seven Moons is that NK has NO other options. Food choices in NK are horrible and Seven Seas is one of the better choices, but that isn't saying much. Edamame is great, but the other choices always leave me wishing someone would open a better Asian restaurant in town or even nearby. To top it off, they left out our chicken fingers order last time we did take-out. Major fail!!

two reasons why this place is a-ok, but doesn't light my world on fire: one. the food is tasty and decent, but nothing special. Everything tasted and presented as it should, but I was anticipating something special based on what I had heard about the restaurant. I appreciated the bento box, but was disappointed that nothing we ordered came with white rice. The portions were also small, which did not make sharing dishes possible. two. the service was fine, but again... nothing exceptional. i didn't walk away feeling perturbed, but our server (and the other people who helped out with the table) didn't make any sort of impression. two reasons why i would give it another go: one. the service was fast. we were seated right away (at 6 pm on a saturday), the food came out quickly, and we didn't have to wait any time for the check or our change. two. the restaurant was really clean (which included a bus person coming out with a quiet little vacuum to clean the carpet in between table settings). the dining room was spotless, and the decor was delightful.

I used to love this place. I still get take-out occasionally. The prices are outrageous. A $3 egg roll? $8.50 for peking ravioli. In my opinion this is like when the SEO of Netflix decided he was going to double the price of the service. The stock totally tanked. Fortunately for him, he went public and withdrew the proposed rate hike. Seven Moons should probably do the same if they want to entice new customers. Bad business.

I sat at the bar The bartender was quick, attentive, gorgeous, and could make a solid martini. I ordered the Spicy Tekka and Hamachi w/scallion rolls. Both delicious and both fresh. Upon leaving I decided to give their chinese a whirl and ordered a spicy crispy beef to go. Meh. For the area it's a solid 4-stars. I think I'd rather just sit at the bar and have a few drinks and rolls then go for a full on dinner, but that's just me.

Seven Moons is an Asian Restaurant in keeping with a modern idea of combining several different asian food styles including thai, chinese, japanese etc. It's a rather large restaurant with two bars, a sushi bar, tatami tables (a low table you sit on the floor, shoes off). A good choice for those that cannot make up their mind, I think there are over 12 pages to the menu. The service is decent, though varying depending on which of the seemingly endless employees is serving you. The sushi is mediocre at best. If sushi absolutely must be eaten (although I wouldn't recommend it) then I would choose one of the sashimi combos available as they are made to order. The sushi and rolls are not good as much of the fish is cut ahead of time, a grave sin for serious sushi eaters. The Nime Chow are light and tasty. Also a plus are the bee bong and other Vietnamese dishes. I would also recommend several of the Japanese COOKED dishes including the Pork Katsu.

This restaurant was incredibly tasty. They serve a huge number of dishes from seven Asian cuisines from China, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Thailand. The menu is expansive, yet the prices are really reasonable. My partner and I had the chicken wing appetizer, done with spicy Thai peppers. Sixteen pieces of wings (way more than we thought we ordered!) for $8. They were hot, crispy, and very good. For lunch, I got a crispy noodle dish with seafood ($8) that was just as I remember from the best Chinese restaurants. My partner got the lettuce wraps, which were really good, and a large portion to boot ($10)! All in all, the bill (with tax and tip) was under $40. Pricey for lunch, but we took home a lot of leftovers, and the food we got would have been more than enough for dinner, too. The service was pretty quick and relatively attentive - in taking the lettuce wraps home, they gave us extra lettuce for the filling. To summarize?? I cannot wait to go back!

I eat here a lot. I have never had a huge problem but because the restaurant is so big you are bound to experience inconsistencies on occasion, that's fine with me. Tonight I order takeout, they messed up everything (except the sushi, that's why they get one star) the fried rice had egg shells in it!! They put vegetables in the noodles, after I told them three times that I wanted just noodles, sauce and chicken, and the pad-Thai was horrible!! I eat pad-Thai a lot, and this was awful! When we called to tell them that we were disappointed (not even asking for money back) they just said "we sold a lot of pad-Thai today, no one complained". They could care less if there were eggshells in the fried rice! I will not be going back here again. Oh and they didn't put any sauce in our bag for the pad-Thai, the sauce they claimed would make it taste better.

Recently I had a guest from Japan visiting and his one culinary wish was to try "American Chinese Food" as he is a big fan of the Chinese food served in Japan. Knowing the local fare and not wanting to disappoint him, I asked some coworkers for a recommendation. Seven Moons was everyone's suggestion. I had driven past it on many occasions but never thought twice about it. It is my new favorite Asian restaurant. Clean, well decorated and with many comfortable dining rooms, it is like no other "Chinese" restaurant I have eaten at in all my years. The menu is extensive and well organized, featuring not only Chinese but also Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes. I dined with three others and we all selected different entrees. Each was promptly delivered, beautifully presented and delicious. No one was disappointed in their choices, including our Japanese guest. We enjoyed their "famous" handmade Crab Ragoons and were most impressed....not greasy, rather light and flavorful. Service was prompt and courteous. The only thing disappointing was the Dark and Stormy my husband ordered from the bar. It was clearly not made with Goslings and it was a bit on the weak and watered down side. The total bill for four with an appetizer, one drink and four entrees, including tax was $80. Looking forward to our next visit!

If you know WHAT to order here, you can have a spectacular meal -AND cheap!! What a menu...pages and pages of Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisine. The shrimp bisque is wonderful, with a surprise of 1 perfectly cooked shrimp at the bottom of the cup - or 2 if you have a bowl. But it is mighty filling, so save room. Sushi is very fresh looking though we did not have it. My seafood Pad Thai was just okay. It contained fake crab, plus good shrimp and calamari. But the noodles were a bit mushy and it lacked cilantro and other ingredients I expect to find in Pad Thai. My mistake. Should have done some research and gone with Vietnamese food. My husband had an interesting and tasty dish of ground pork and shrimp in spicy oil - served with irresistibly crunchy rice cakes. What fun to put a bit of the meat on top of the crispy cake and eat with fingers. It was sort of a Thai version of chili. The dishes with lettuce seem the most popular and well liked here. The stellar end of the meal however, redeemed any and all shortcomings....Ginger Ice Cream from Inside Scoop - a local home made ice cream place. My oh my. After fighting over a shared bowl, we ordered another!! I can't say enough about this perfect ice cream delight...buttery, creamy, filled with bits of ginger. HEAVEN. The best ginger ice cream hands down that we have had anywhere. Certainly we will go to Inside Scoop itself, but also return to this restaurant to find the perfect main dish. I believe it is there.

I used to go to this restaurant all the time when I lived in NK. It was my favorite local restaurant, but after a few years, it got very popular, and the service suffered. Also the food portions got smaller, so I stopped going. I decided to try it again since I was in the area and I was craving Sushi. I ordered the Chicken Green Curry Soup and it was very good. The chicken was not trimmed at all, bu the flavor of the soup was delicious and not over the top spicy. I also ordered a sake martini and the Wild Tuna roll. The roll was good, but it was missing something, like a savory flavor. The avacado was also a bit over ripe as well. When I got my bill I noticed that the martini was $8.25, which is really expensive for a sake drink. The rest of the meal was worth it. Overall I would say that my experience was good, but not good enough to go out of the way to go back. I am glad that my negative feeling about my once favorite restaurant is gone, but it isn't what it was...

(review dated 3/08): been there couple of times, and even though they have a huge seating area, wait is inevitable. food is surprisingly great, it being a mixed asian fusion that has a wide range of dishes from japanese (ex. sushi) to southeast asian (ex. pad thai). not sure if they have japanese chefs amongst them, but seems that they've got the sushi right. other food items are good; drinks are good too. (sorry it's been a while.) service is good with respect to their workload; we got our water glasses refilled promptly. now if you can only get over that wait, which usually would be an estimated 20-45 minutes, depending on size of party and day of week, you should be all set. seems to be me they open till quite late too. :)

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. I come here every time I come back to Rhode Island and can never get enough. Their sushi and maki are absolutely amazing. Always the right amount of fish, never too salty, never seems too old, the rice is not too much vinegar either. The orange dragon roll is the most delicious sushi roll I've had in my life. Period. I like maki with creativity and variety. Speaking of variety, this place has it. Their menu is pages and pages long and really I think I could go there 20 more times and still not have tried everything. I haven't eaten anything here that I haven't liked. Their thai green curry chicken soup is amazing, not too spicy and tender chicken. The silver chicken was a nice surprise because we couldn't figure out the description "a silver cocoon" meant tin foil. I've tried the Ban Hoi and that is a fun dish to eat. The seven moons antipasto is a great appetizer platter that is enough to feed four people quite fully. Their dumplings, steamed or fried, are full and delicious and come with a great dipping sauce. And the crab rangoon --- can't get enough. They are smaller than I'd like, but the cream cheese is just the right amount and the combination works so well together. And as far as the staff goes, I've never had any issues with the service, even when the place is tremendously busy it's never a problem waiting in the nice lobby next to the bar that they have, and that just gives us time to make up our mind to order. I wish I could go there every week.

I ate there tonight with my 88 year old mother...this time we had the Asian App Platter...plus she was craving spare ribs...I take her all over the state..to all the Galaxies...and many fine Italian eateries. She really likes 7 Moons out of all of them. I read Lee R.'s review..er...hit piece...and upon finding out her REAL address is MANHATTAN ,NY...I understood her ridiculous review. I have been eating sushi at 7 Moons since its inception. I have been enjoying sushi for over 30 years, since discovering the delights of fish au naturel overseas in the Orient. I have NEVER had ONE sushi meal at 7 Moons that wasn't absolutely fresh..and I've eaten EVERYWHERE in the state, including Haruki's in Cranston and Tokyo on the East Side. I can't say what was "ucky" that her fiance didn't like but I'd guess it was the sea urchin..so much for the uneducated palate of the pretentious Manhattan matron. As for the nitwit from Seattle who wrote that he was incensed that they charged him for a dish he ATE and then wanted money back for, I only have one thing to say....stay off hallucinatory drugs...if that is possible.

I have to give this place five stars because it my favorite restaurant at home. I go every time I am in Rhode Island, and I always get the amazing Nime Chow. I can taste the peanut sauce right now. Their miso is delicious and the sushi is always of the highest quality, fresh and delicious. I am also a big fan of the tuna nutta. I can't get enough of this place!

    (5)
  • A G.

They have peanut sauce to DIE for. I overdose on nime chow and pad thai every time I'm there. It's absolutely delicious. I agree with past reviews - the waitstaff sucks .. but you can't let it ruin your meal! Some of their dishes are bland. However, they have a huge selection and you're bound to find something you like. We always go back for more! :) Weekends are super busy .. so better to go during the week or go for an early dinner on Fri/Sat/Sun.

Oops...I did it again! (Britney on Seven Moons) I want to like this place... I really do and so I allowed my dining partner of the day to talk me into another try. It was a Saturday at lunch time and surprisingly it was not packed. We met our waitress and then we waited 10 minutes for water..we waited another 10 and got our salads- these had potential to be great- they were served in large sized bowls and the dressing is very good- the bad part was that they tasted like they had been made the day before and stuck in a freezer....so the veggies had that weird taste and were sorta icy. Once our salads were cleared we waited for at least 15 minutes (this I am not exaggerating about. My dining partner and I talked about leaving becuase it felt so darn long...) FInally our waitress returned and served us our entree . This included sushi- it was almost luke warm- followed by our bill.

I have been here sooo many times in the past and it was always great, but something this time, was just not the same. My chicken dish tasted like wet cardboard, and the pad thai my friend got was very mediocre. My mom ALWAYS gets salmon when she goes here, which is a lot, and they were out for the season? Thats what the server said, and it made no sense, especially since they had another salmon on the menu that was available, but they couldnt (or wouldnt) prepare it the way my mom usually gets it? hmm... I dont know, maybe it was a bad day for 7 moons... it used to be great.

Love the sushi and the prices. Love the specialty sushi wraps, the Green Curry Chicken Soup (OH MY), I just love the diner style asian menu..you never get bored. It can be a little crowded so get there a little early and you'll be very happy. Great family atmosphere. Many rooms provide noise control. I've not been disappointed ever.

Wicked overrated and rude employees. I ordered spring rolls and didn't realize it was going to be deep fryed. I took one bite to try it and then asked to send it back as it didn't say it was fried and I didn't want it (it was gross). The waitress made a big deal that I already ate it (one bite to try it!) and then I spoke with the manager and he agreed with her that I couldn't get any refund because I already "ate it." What kind of customer service is that? WTF? Other than that the food was so-so. Really don't know why people are raving about it and I certainly won't be back since they were very rude about a dish I didn't even want.

Maybe Seven Moons was once a great place for a great meal, but the three times I have been in the past year, it was LACKING. The service is slow & unfriendly. The food is bland. The pad thai I had on the last visit was gross. It's not worth the wait. Go further north to Apsara or south to one of the decent ethnic restaurants in South County.

Look ma, no food poisoning. . . I've been a few times since my original review, the latest being last night to experience the Asian food for dinner on Christmas day thing. As before, I have not had a single bad experience dining here. Last night, the service was prompt and courteous, and the food quite good. And I just finished off my fiancee's leftover pad thai for lunch today. . . yummy!

Seems like this place receives either great reviews or horrible ones. Fortunately, my family and I had a really nice time here yesterday for Mother's Day. My fiance and I took my mom, dad, and sister here for dinner. We arrived there around 5pm and barely had a wait, although the place was fairly busy. Our waiter was attentive, funny, and very helpful. When my mom (who is not a drinker by any means) asked about the pomegranate martini that was advertised on the table, the waiter engaged the table next to us to ask them how theirs were. Everyone there suggested them and it brought a real sense of fun to the atmosphere, which started our dinner off in a positive manner. We did order the martinis and they were excellent. Even my parents enjoyed them, which was surprising. For appetizers we ordered the Nigiri sushi sampler, which was a 4 piece dish-somewhat typical, but good. The sushi was very fresh. My parents ordered the crab rangoon, which I didn't try, but also did not hear any complaints about. For entrees, everyone at our table seemed happy with their dishes. I ordered a bento box with salmon teriayki and some calif. rolls. The boxes were good, although there was a little confusion when one of them was mixed up with another. No big deal though, the waiter fixed it promptly. The miso soup was also pretty tasty. Usually I am not a big fan of miso, but theirs was nicely flavored. The tables were a bit small, but our dirty dishes were cleared quickly enough that we were able to manage. I was actually pretty surprised at the ending bill, it really wasn't bad considering we all ordered drinks, apps, and meals. The total was 125 for 5 people. Overall our visit was very satisfying. I would definitely go back again.

The menu is HUGE! There is just soooo much on the menu, making it diffcult to choose. It is a plus and a minus in obvious ways. We were very happy with our food. I will note the Green curry duck soup is amazing. My main complaint about the place is the service. I felt like on a Friday night they were rushing us out. It was a busy night. Yet, we got the menus (all 50pages of it), rushed to order, rushed to eat, and pretty much pushed out, so the next people could sit. The place is very loud also. I couldnt completely down the place cause the food was good. I would prefer to do take out before I would do a sit down meal there again.

Had a bug once in our watercress. Second time was raw chicken wings complained but was ignored. Never again!!!! Very arrogant management. I consider Seven Moons the best Asian restaurant in South County. They've quite a selection of items on their menu compared to other Asian restaurants I've been to. I love the instant quick service here. The menu also offers healthy options and low carb dishes wish is hard to find at an Asian restaurant. My favorite is their Cantonese noodles absolutely delicious!!!!!!

Okay what's with all the bad reviews? I mean seriously! This is the BEST Asian restaurant I have ever eaten at and I've eaten at alot. I moved to south Carolina and nothing here even compares. The food is always amazing no matter what you order and their sushi is fabulous. I've never had better. They make the best spicy tells and Atlantic rolls. Their crab rangoons are the best I've ever had. I've never had a bad experience with the chicken dishes or pad Thai people need to chill out. When I lived in rhode island on a regular basis I would eat there at LEAST once a week and I eat their 3 to 4 times when I'm home for a week or too. Amazing restaurant!

Sushi is the reason I keep coming back! I'm not an officianado, but I've had sushi before and this was by far what got me hooked on it! Saki was good, service was not bad at all. The thing to keep in mind is that it is not an intimate dining experience, per se, because of the volume of people. Good food often requires WAITING! Want friendly, sickeningly smiley, prompt service?---go to Friendly's! If you're smart, you go on any day but Sunday--why would you go for sushi on sunday anyways?! Staff won't be the regulars, i.e. not as good. What to order? If you're new to sushi, order the dragon rolls, you won't be dissapointed. Also, if you can get it (you have to call early in the morning to see if they have it) ask for fatty tuna. BEST thing you've ever tasted. I was pleased with the sashimi-I dunno, maybe it's just chilled right and sliced right (fresh?) plus, they give you good sized portions. For all you newbies--you've got to realize two things-ONE is that the food is not loaded with MSG, which is what gives most chinese food its irresistable flavor. If you are used to chinese buffets or cheesy "Japanese" steakhouses then this is not the place for you! TWO, if you are not the adventurous type, you will not like the food. This place is not for those who frequent low-flavor pub-type american restaurants or those who like to eat at "family" restaurants. Nothing bad to say about the place, and I'm picky! If you have a problem with this place, you probably watch Fox News and hurt puppies in your spare time.....I'm sure

Very good food. Excellent prices except sushi (very good sushi though). The menu is very long and it will take you multiple visits to try many of the dishes. We keep coming back often. The ambiance is extremely nice and the restaurant looks very upscale despite the very budget friendly prices. Lunches are a steal! Service is quite good and fast. I have never been at the bar (I seldom drink alcoholic beverages). Restrooms were clean every single visit so far (over 10 in 3 years). The low prices and good food account for an almost full restaurant at dinner time every night so parking may be slightly challenging.

I've eaten there for big meals and also had a large family dinner as a take out. Overall i can say my friends who had the sushi (icky) liked it. My friend who loves sushi did not think it was the best ever. As far as the ribs go large order is 12 for 14 bucks small is 6 ribs for 7 bucks. The ribs are average although good size. . .not that flavorful. Fried rice good not overly oily. Pad thai is not the best i've ever had. . .chicken is overly dark and just not that great. Boneless chix--hard to screw up. However my one big complaint if you order a chicken and broccoli or another meal it does not come with white rice and also they do not give you fortune cookies. Prices are not cheap. We had rice, wonton, ribs, pad thai, chix/broccoli,and boneless chix for 49 dollars. Overall it's like a big chinese food factory and a fancy dining room.

We've been here so many times. The food is delicious. We've tried several different dishes, all excellent. Pad Thai, chicken fried rice and an order of their egg rolls (THE best in RI) is my usual. The service is good and the food always comes out fast!! This place is no secret, it can get crowded but fortunately it's pretty spacious. Definitely worth the drive and worth a try!

The food is Fabulous! Have been to Thailand four times, China 11 and Vietnam once.....their Asian food is spot on. Comparing this to other American Asian restaurants is laughable. I have been coming here for years with my other four sisters and they treat us very well and..... have never experienced bad service and trust me......we are a handful!

love the food, i didn't think that a restaurant that served literally every kind of asian cuisine could do ALL of them well, i was wrong. extremely diverse and delicious. service is usually sub par but i could care less. i've never had a better meal anywhere. nime chow! my favorite dish there. but everything is fantastic.

After all the good things I had heard about this place I could not believe how atrocious my experience here was. I sat with two others (a party of three) and our food all came out at different intervals. As to not be rude we all waited until our food arrived to eat, at which point it was all cold. The service was just as terrible. Our waiter had no personality and quite the attitude. We talked to the owner/manager who was just as impersonal. Thankfully I was a gift certificate so I didn't have to waste any of my money here. Go the extra few miles and drive to Wakefield to Chen's. Better food, better service... better everything.

  • Paul M.

The menu is absolutely huge as other reviewers have said. I have been here multiple times in the past few years and the food and service are both fantastic, especially accompanied with a wide variety of cuisines and menu items. The only downer is that the meals can be a little pricey depending on what you order ($10-$30, not anything enormous). Overall very recommended.

  • Christopher M.

I can't give this a five because I save that for extra special dining experiences that have good food, great service, unique and quality ambiance but this is a STRONG 4. It is definitely the best place for Asian in South county, probably in RI. They have given themselves an ENORMOUS task. Make quality authentic food from seven different Asian cultures. I know a lot of places that can't even get Americanized Chinese right and they have got it all. Plus the food is good, service is decent for a large place that is almost always busy and the prices are very reasonable for what you are getting and the portion sizes. Not overwhelming but big. As with most Asian cuisines, they heat up well the next day. In response to other reviews I will say that most criticisms which I partially agree with are because of their great food and their success. 1.The menu is kind of big so it makes it hard for people to choose what they want. I usually split things and try something new every time. Over the course of several visits you can pick out things you like OR just choose one type of cuisine and stick to that for the night. 2. It is always pretty busy, especially on weekends, so you might feel rushed. I would suggest takeout on these nights if you don't like crowds. If you really want to sit and enjoy you can come on a quieter night or grow a pair and eat at your own pace. 3. They also seem to get a lot of big parties. I was there last night (with a group of 7) and just in my walk to the bathroom I counted 4 tables of 10 or more people that weren't even together. As a former waiter (for a brief time) I know how big groups can overwhelm staff. 4.Last thing which is a small concern but also impacted by the amount of business is cleanliness. I have never had a dirty table or utensils but the floors and bathrooms could use a good scrub. I imagine that they would need serious attention on a regular basis though with so many people coming through. The fried ice cream is also really good but I never have room for dessert. Overall Excellent!

This is a very authentic Asian Restaurant, worth repeated visits. The menu is enormous, we have dined here several times and haven't sampled even half of the menu. Due to this restaurant being so popular(busy 7 days a week), timing is everything, I recommend eating here just as it opens for lunch or dinner. If you arrive during peak lunch or dinner times, the service and food quality drops significantly. If you do not enjoy dining with a crowd, avoid this restaurant on weekends, try their take out instead.

Used to go here for sushi, but couldn't see what the fuss was all about. The interior is lovely, but the waitstaff never is good, and there is a high turnover. The Chinese and Thai dishes are nothing to write home about either. Found a new sushi place, so 7 Moons will see us no more!

As good as it gets around the ocean state. Plenty of parking. Great prices. Lunch is very inexpensive. Gets pretty crowded on the weekends.

I agree with comments about the sushi not being cold ( I think the rice is still warm) and the salads being excessively chilled. Yet the lunch special is so reasonable and the atmosphere is great The service was good. I will surely go back for the sushi combination roll at lunch. They allow you to do one substitution so I was able to opt out on crab for yellow tail for a minimal fee.

I was rushed to the hospital two days after my horrible experience at Seven Moons. Not only did the chicken taste like soap, I contracted salmonella poisoning from this restaurant's food and to top it off, the waitress (who was very friendly) messed up our order. I came here with my boyfriends family who we were visiting from Boston. I never had such horrible asian food in my life. First off, we ordered Hunan Chicken.. they brought us Szchechuan Chicken. The restaurant was dirty, the waiters were sweeping up right next to our table and creating dust.. that later landed in our food.. yum. =T Regardless, I'd rather drive an extra 10 or even 15 minutes to eat somewhere I don't have to worry about getting severely sick from. My experience unfortunately took place during my finals week and right before my trip to the Caribbean. I am contemplating whether or not take legal action. I don't want anyone else to have the same misfortune I had at this venue. Be cautious.

I am being generous giving this place a star. Absolutely horrible. It started off with an indifferent bartender serving a member of my group a totally watered down drink containing very pale diet coke. After two people complained she said,"oh yeah, its not working right". I was with a party of twelve celbrating a wedding shower. We were crowded into a table so close that our elbows were touching. The Sears Catologue sized menus were plunked in the middle of the table for us to grab. When the waitress finally arrived we gave our appetizer orders. All were mediocre at best. Noone checked back with us for refills on our cocktails or even water. The dinner was greasy, the sushi, lousy, the sald flat and the soup cold. One of the women didn't get her meal until 11 of us had been eating for some time. I will never return, fortunately no salmonella poisoning like another reviewer, but I didn't feel all that well the next day. Take my advice...stay away.

This is a great place for a quick and affordable lunch. Monday thru Friday they offer lunch for just $5.99 and there is plenty to choose from. I usually have the Nime Chow lover lunch which comes with two Nime Chow and your choice of soup. I like the hot and sour soup, its not the best but its not bad either. I also recommend the Pad Thai its a good sized lunch portion and also comes with soup. Its the kind of place you are hurried in and out of. Not the type of place you go to have a leisurely lunch or dinner. The waitstaff seems like they are always in the weeds, you can almost see sweat beading on their foreheads as the rush from table to table.

The food here is great in comparision to the other Chinese food places in the neighborhood. I recommend nim chows, lemongrass chicken or tofu, and ginger fried icecream. Thier fried icecream is fabulous. In fact when I was there it only cost 5 bucks and it can be easily spilt between two people. I definately reccomend it. The atmosphere is quite interesting as they have paper dividers in some rooms. In another room there are seats that are litterally in the floor. You take off your shoes and "sink" into your chair. Very cool! I didn't give them 5 stars because on some occasions I would find myself waiting for the waiter. They get really busy, on Sat nite or Fri nite it is better to Take out!

Great food and service! Has a huge menu of various cuisines and the sushi is awesome. The atmosphere is nice as well, but expect a wait during the dinner rush.

I pretty much eat here every other week. It's one of the very few "asian restaurants" in South County that offer a large diverse menu (japanese, chinese, thai). Although, if you were in a city, you could surely find some place else with a much more impressive authentic menu. But we are in South County after all, beggars can't be choosers, and I will even admit that after this place opened, I ditched my local chinese restaurant that I grew up on. (yes, i feel the guilt). Generally speaking I've always loved every dish I've gotten here. I'm a sucker for the crab rangoons, pad thai, bee bong, chicken coconut soup and nime chow. The one major down fall of this place that I wish they would improve on is service. The waitstaff here is generally not the greatest when it comes to attitude. It's not as though they are intentionally rude, its just they could use some major improving. Or at least a really good training session on upbeat positive service. This is why I usually prefer getting take out. Of course one could always remember that moment last year where the health department closed them down for a day because of one too many violations, but I try not to think about that.

Everyone I know loves Seven Moons, and I *really* *really* want to also, but for some reason, every time I go I leave unsatisfied. The reason I want to like it so much is that it an oasis in a desert. There are so mostly really mediocre Asian restaurants in South County, and Seven Moons at least has an interesting and diverse menu. Not the 50s-style pu-pu platter and tiki hut drinks here. I think the name refers to the seven cultural influences, but I might be making that up. Anyway, the vision is great, but like I say, I always leave unsatisfied. For example, the sushi menu has everything you would expect, but not a lot more. Quail Eggs. That's cool. But no specially-sourced ingredients, no unique roll creations. Entrees I've had from any of the "moons" always ended up being a bit bland and uninteresting. It's almost like they went out and found really interesting items to serve, but then toned it down for general consumption. If Seven Moons were in Boston or LA, or even in Providence, I would have given them two stars. I throw in the extra because of the fact that they are trying to do something interesting down here, where few others are. Given the recent opening of more well-executed options like Herbs and Spices, however, should help boost the interest in improving the execution at Seven Moons, so it can finally meet its expectation.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
